9Lives’ ambulance business in strong growth – new contracts in Helsinki and Kymenlaakso

9Lives’ ambulance operations begin as emergency medical service provider in two major wellbeing areas from the beginning of 2025.
9Lives’ ambulance business is rapidly expanding as the company begins operations as an emergency medical service provider in two major wellbeing regions starting in early 2025. Both in the Helsinki region and in Kymenlaakso, 9Lives has been selected to provide critical emergency medical services as part of a multi-provider model that strengthens cooperation between the public and private sectors.
9Lives as provider of non-emergency medical transport services in the Helsinki region
In the HUS wellbeing region, 9Lives will begin operating as a provider for non-emergency tasks dispatched by the emergency response center. The collaboration includes 5-6 emergency medical units per day, two of which will be on standby around the clock. High task volumes and tight schedules require skilled personnel and high-quality equipment.
The long contract period enables investments in modern equipment and service development with HUS. This collaboration supports the entire region’s emergency medical care system and service level,” says Timo Palo, Business development director of 9Lives’ ambulance services.
Extensive collaboration in emergency medical services in the Kymenlaakso wellbeing area
In the Kymenlaakso wellbeing area, 9Lives will begin as an emergency medical service provider, covering all dispatch calls from the emergency response center throughout the region. Base stations are located in Kotka and Kouvola, but operations will extend throughout the entire Kymenlaakso area.
“Based on previous experiences, cooperation with the Kymenlaakso operators has been excellent. We are ready to develop local operations to be even more efficient and safer,” Palo states.
Modern equipment supports growth
Both in Helsinki and Kymenlaakso, 9Lives is investing in new, reliable equipment and medical supplies. Collaboration with public service providers in these regions ensures that technology and operating procedures are consistent. This creates the conditions for seamless cooperation and high-quality service.
Strong commitment and future development
The growth of 9Lives’ ambulance business reflects the company’s commitment to providing high-quality emergency medical services. Long contract periods in both the Helsinki and Kymenlaakso regions enable continuous service development and investments that improve the efficiency and safety of emergency care.
“We are proud to be involved in developing emergency medical services in both regions. Our growth demonstrates the trust of our clients and the professionalism of our staff,” summarizes Palo from 9Lives.
